A trip with my dog to Niedereggenen

Trees on the way to Niedereggenen.

The town of Niedereggenen is famous for its cherry blossom. That makes April a perfect time to take a trip there. Since you can walk along the fields, your dog is sure to enjoy the trip too.

As you approach the village, you can already see the trees from the roads. Just beautiful!

THE ROUTE

This walk starts at the Niedereggenen cemetery. But don’t worry! That’s just where we will park the car. We are not actually going to walk across any graveyard.

View into the valley.

Instead, we will make our way up the hill towards Heidel Hüsli, a small cabin that offers great views across the fields.

Unfortunately, Google Maps is not familiar with the walking routes in the area, but don’t despair: It’s not hard to make your way there.

And in case that you get lost, there a plenty of other spots that offer a nice view of the valley too.

HOW LONG IT TAKES AND WHO IT’S FOR

I spent around one hour walking through the fields in Niedereggenen. The walk up to Heidel Hüsli is not too steep, but do keep in mind that it is uphill.

THE BOTTOM LINE

This was a nice afternoon walk. I enjoyed marveling at the cherry trees from above and my pup had a great time running around the fields. Niedereggenen is a very pretty spot and certainly worth a stop if you are in the area during spring time.
