This April, I took a trip with my dog to Sautadet Falls in La Roque-sur-Cèze in France. We were in the area and decided to visit the waterfalls. It is a beautiful site and definitely worth a visit with your pup if you are nearby.
HOW TO VISIT SAUTADET FALLS WITH YOUR DOG
In order to get to Sautadet Falls with your dog, I would recommend a car. There is a parking lot near the falls. We paid 2 EUR for one hour of parking.

Important for parking: Please pay at the gate when you leave the parking lot. You can pay directly by card in front of the gate while in your car. I was advised that paying at the machine and then walking back to your car and driving to the exit may result in not being able to leave as too much time will pass!
You can walk directly from the parking lot to the falls, it will take around 10 minutes. Next to the parking lot you have a nice view of the village of La Roque-sur-Cèze.

As you reach the falls, you will be warned by multiple signs that bathing is not allowed as there have been a number of deaths related to bathing at the waterfall. Please keep your dog leashed to avoid them going into the water. My pup sure would!
If your four-legged friend is desperate to get their paws wet, you can make your way to the bottom of the falls where it is safer to enter the water. We saw a few people with their dogs there, but did not go ourselves.
The waterfall itself is not very large, but the whole area is quite expansive. You can walk along the sides and take in the view from different perspectives.

My pup loved climbing up and down the rocks and was way faster than me! Definitely a nice place to bring your dog and enjoy a natural spectacle.
HOW LONG IT TAKES AND WHO IT’S FOR
We spent about one hour at the falls, including the walk to and from the parking lot. If you want to go down to the bottom of the falls and give your pup a chance to get their paws wet, budget more time.
I would say that this visit is suitable for most people. The way there is pretty flat and while you can climb on the rocks, you don’t have to. You can get a nice view by just staying on the path too.
THE BOTTOM LINE
We enjoyed the visit to Sautadet Falls. If you are in the area, it is a nice place to take your pup where they can explore the rocks and you can enjoy the view. Since it is a rather short visit, I would not specifically plan a trip here from further away though.
