Where to stay in El Mojón near Murcía with a dog

Recently, I’ve taken a trip with my dog to the Murcía region in Spain. This time, we chose to stay in a beautiful holiday home in the El Mojón area. Overall, it was a great choice.

If you are looking for a place to stay near Murcía with your dog, I can wholeheartedly recommend this holiday home. For a full breakdown of my experience, read the review below. If you are looking for things to do in the area, this is a great hike to take with your dog to Baterías de Cenizas!

DOG FRIENDLINESS

My dog was very welcome here. During the check-in, the attendant directly gave me tips on how to set up the home so that my dog could run around freely everywhere. So nice!

The area also is very dog friendly, as there are multiple smaller parks in the immediate surroundings. Moreover, you can reach a small stretch of beach as well as the entrance to the Salinas de San Pedro park within a few minutes. Honestly, the location is a dog’s paradise.

THE LOCATION

As mentioned above, the holiday home is in a great location. It takes only a few minutes on foot to reach El Mojón beach. Please note that it seems that technically, dogs are not allowed on the beach. However, when we went in December, the beach was absolutely deserted, so we may have gone for a quick moment. Look at her fly!

Another attraction within a few minutes walk of the holiday home is the Salinas de San Pedro park. That area is great for walking your dog as well as bird watching. We saw many flamingos, cormorants and other types of birds there. If you want to take a really long walk, you can walk all the way to the port of San Pedro.

THE HOLIDAY HOME

The holiday home itself was very comfortable. Honestly, it made me want to buy one exactly like it. It has a very large outdoor area, perfect for meals or lounging in the sun. It also has a sheltered sun room which is perfect for dining as well as another terrace upstairs.

Downstairs, there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other one with two singles. Both are decent size and have windows. The bed I used was very comfortable. The living room and kitchen area is also large and features a reclinable couch and wing chair, as well as a smaller dining table and chairs.

In the kitchen, there is absolutely everything that you could need. The home even has a dishwasher and a washing machine, although these are housed in the garage. If I could change one thing, I would move the dishwasher into the regular kitchen. The downstairs bathroom was also comfortable.

The holiday home actually has an upstairs floor as well, which can be reached through an outside staircase. So if you are staying with friends or family but would love some extra privacy, this works great. There is a second bathroom including a shower in the upstairs unit too.

THE SERVICE

As it was a holiday home, there was of course not much in terms of service. However, the interactions with the host were good. I booked very last minute and they still managed to have everything ready for me on time. When I had a small problem, they were very quick to come over to fix it for me. All good on that side!

THE VALUE

At this holiday home, I paid around 65 EUR per night. I imagine that in the high season, it will be more expensive. But at this price, it is an absolute bargain!

THE BOTTOM LINE

Overall, this holiday home was a fabulous choice. The stay was very comfortable and the location was great. Coupled with the fantastic value for money, this one is a 5/5 for sure.
