This March, I traveled to Eisenach with my dog to visit the Wartburg. We chose to stay at this apartment which was in a really convenient location for both the Wartburg as well as the Burschenschaftsdenkmal, which we also ended up checking out.
If you are looking for a place to stay near the Wartburg with your dog, this is a nice place to stay. For a full breakdown of my experience in this apartment, read the review below.
DOG FRIENDLINESS
My dog was very welcome here. There was no extra charge, which is nice since most places these days seem to add a small surcharge.
THE LOCATION
The apartment is in a great location, which was the main reason that I chose it. I had limited time in the area and wanted to make sure that I could visit the Wartburg easily. For that, the apartment is perfectly located. Within about 10 minutes by car, you can reach the Wartburg. Similarly, it is about a 10 minute drive to the Burschenschaftsdenkmal.
If you’re in town for just a short time, this location allows you to see some of the highlights within a very short drive.
THE APARTMENT
The apartment itself was really comfortable. It is very spacious and in particular the living area and kitchen was nice and large. We only stayed here one night so we did not use everything, but the kitchen in particularly appeared very well equipped.
The separate bedroom was comfortable as well. However the apartment is next to a busy-ish street. Therefore it was a bit noisy even at night, so I slept with earplugs.
Interestingly, the bathroom was split in two, with one room housing the toilet and the other room the shower – not a problem for me, just a bit unusual.
Unfortunately when I checked in, the wifi initially was not working. I had to reset the router, and then it worked. It was also quite cold in the apartment, I would have appreciated the host turning on the heater before my arrival, but those are smaller details.
As a bonus, there is a parking spot directly in front of the property. It was a bit confusing to know which spot to take. It is the one furthest left (closest to the pizzeria).
Overall, the apartment was nice, and I would gladly stay here again.

THE SERVICE
The host was responsive. Otherwise, there was really no service – self check-in and self check-out. But that was totally fine for me.
THE VALUE
At this apartment, I paid 87 EUR for just one night. To be honest, I think for the size of the apartment this is fair. However for me as a single traveler, I did not need all the space. It was more about the location, and for that I am happy with the price.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Overall, the apartment was a good choice and I would stay here again without hesitation. I’d rate this one a solid 4/5.
