This March, I took a trip to Strasbourg with my dog. I stayed at Hotel Strasbourg – Montagne Verte and it turned out to be an excellent choice! For a full breakdown of my hotel experience, read the review below.
Are you looking for a nice day trip from Strasbourg? Why not go for a hike with your dog on Mont St Odile – it’s gorgeous.
DOG FRIENDLINESS
My dog was welcome here, but there was a small surcharge in the amount of 6 EUR.
THE LOCATION
To me, the location was great. I did not want to have to drive through the city of Strasbourg, but I did want to be within walking distance. From the hotel, you can reach the center of the city in around 20 minutes on foot. At the same time, the area of the hotel is really quiet and residential. For me, that was perfect.

We ended up walking around the city for about 2 hours and were able to cover quite some ground. Strasbourg is really pretty. Of course, my pup had to get her paws wet in the Ill as well. Sadly, I was too slow to take a picture.
THE ROOM
The room can best be described as small but overall well equipped, including a kettle which isn’t standard anymore even in more expensive hotels. When I say small, i really do mean small. I struggled to find a spot to put my dog’s crate.

Unfortunately, the mattresses were really worn out. One could see the “dip” from all the people who have previously slept on them. They really are in dire need of replacement. Otherwise, despite the size, everything was comfortable.
The parking lot can be used free of charge and is quite sizeable.
THE SERVICE
The service at the hotel was great. Check-in and check-out were smooth, the staff was very friendly and also helped me when I did not understand how to turn on the heating.

I chose to eat breakfast at this hotel (15 EUR) and the selection was really nice, with lots of options for both sweet and salty tastes, fresh fruit, eggs and more.
I was also able to take the food up to the room, so that my dog would not be alone. Great service!
THE VALUE
For one night, I ended up paying just 56 EUR for the room. To me, that’s a fantastic value that even lets me forget about the worn out beds. Yes, the room was small, but at that price it is still good value to me.
THE BOTTOM LINE
I can recommend staying at this hotel with a dog. I would rate my stay there as a solid 4 out of 5. If they change the mattresses, it will easily become a full 5/5 score!
