In April of 2024, I took a trip with my dog to the Amboise region in France. After a small hiccup with our initial accommodation we ended up staying in this hotel which was a great choice overall and a good starting point for visiting the town.
In addition, we took a trip to Vernou-sur-Brenne where we hiked through the vineyards for around 2 hours. It was a very enjoyable hike and you can find all the information about the route below.
THE ROUTE

If you come by car, you can park in Place Vincent which is right at the starting point of the hike.
The route is very well marked with yellow indicators. It takes you past the small town of Vernou-sur-Brenne and into the beautiful vineyards before looping back to the town again.
When we were visiting in April, it really was a sight to see as there were lots of little yellow flowers blooming between the vineyards.

The vineyards are vast and when we were there, we only came across a few joggers and mostly had the trails to ourselves.
HOW LONG IT TAKES AND WHO IT’S FOR
Overall, the route took around 2 hours to complete and it was a very enjoyable, easy walk. The terrain is mostly flat and doable for most people without concern.
THE BOTTOM LINE
This walk through the vineyards in Vernou-sur-Brenne was well worth it. If you are traveling through the area, do consider a stop for this hike with your dog!
