In 2024, I passed through the Rüsselsheims area during a trip with my dog. The city in Hesse, Germany is best known for being the headquarter of German car manufacturer Opel. DOG FRIENDLINESS
My dog was very welcome here. A surcharge of 10 euros was applied.
THE LOCATION
In my view, the hotel is in a nice location if you are staying in Rüsselsheim with your dog. It is right next to the Main river, which gives you a great option for a walk with your dog along the river bank and into the Verna park. My dog was certainly happy with this option!
There is also a large public parking lot just next to the hotel which is free of charge between 6pm and 8am.
THE ROOM
The room was nice, although the layout was a little unusual. There was a large bed along with an armchair and a desk. However, there wasn’t really a bathroom in the traditional sink. The sink was in the middle of the room, and there were separate cubicles for the shower and the toilet each. I didn’t mind too much for one night, but for a longer stay I think I would prefer a different setup. Still, the room was large and comfortable overall.
THE SERVICE
The service was very nice at this hotel. Upon arrival, even though I had reserved a paid parking space the receptionist pointed out to me that she would recommend using the public parking lot next to the hotel, as that would be free of charge from 6pm to 8am. I thought that was very good service!
Connected to the hotel is also a restaurant which brews its own beer, so of course I had to sample that. Delicious!
The food was very good as well and of course my dog was welcome too. Overall, a very nice end to a long day on the road.
THE VALUE
For one night, I paid just 73 euros here. At this price, I would say the value was great. Parking was mostly free of charge and the hotel even had a selection of complimentary haribo sweets in the lobby. Yum!
THE BOTTOM LINE
This hotel was a great choice for a stay with my dog in Rüsselsheim. The hotel is in a nice location and given the good service and the nice restaurant, I’d definitely stay here again. Even with the odd bathroom setup, this one is a 5 out of 5 for me!
