A trip with my dog to the City of Arts and Sciences and Turia Gardens in Valencia

In late 2022, I took a trip with my dog to Valencia to visit the City of Arts and Sciences as well as the Turia Gardens park.

If you need a place to stay with your dog in Valencia, the hotel that I stayed it ended up being nice after a rocky start and it is in a great location for these two highlights. You can find my review here.

THE ROUTE

We started at the City of Arts and Sciences (Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciènces). I love the architecture by Santiago Calatrava, isn’t it just stunning? Of course we could not enter the exhibitions with the dog, but it was still totally worth it to walk around and admire the buildings.

Afterwards, we entered the Turia Gardens (Jardí del Túria), an impressive inner-city park that is more than 9 kilometres long. Sounds fantastic? It is indeed. The park is quite varied, with interesting architecture and even fruit trees right in the park, for everyone to take advantage.

We walked from the City of Arts of Sciences up to the Bridge of Flowers, and that was not even close to covering half of the park.

The park was popular, with cyclists, runners, people with children, senior citizens and folks walking their dogs of course.

It was busy but never felt full, as the park is so large the crowds have a chance to spread out.

I found the Turia Gardens to be a very nice place to visit with my dog and she certainly enjoyed it as well. There were even some closed off areas where dogs were allowed to run off leash!

HOW LONG IT TAKES AND WHO IT’S FOR

We spent around 3 hours walking through the City of Arts and Sciences and exploring the Turia Gardens, and it was not enough. I feel like we barely scratched the surface.

If I have a chance to go back to Valencia, I will certainly plan in more time there to see all of the Turia Gardens park.

THE BOTTOM LINE

The City of Arts and Sciences are a sight to behold, and my dog very much enjoyed exploring the Turia Gardens as well. If you are in Valencia, don’t miss these highlights!
