In 2022, I took a trip with my dog to Denmark. We came by ferry from Rostock in Germany to Gedser in Denmark and then drove up to Præstø in Sjælland on the island of Zealand.
During our visit, we stayed in this hotel which was a very good choice overall. For a full breakdown of my hotel experience in Præstø, read the review below.
DOG FRIENDLINESS
My dog was very welcome here and there was no surcharge applied.
THE LOCATION
The hotel was in a nice location to explore the town on foot. Præstø is not very large but it is a very cute place. Walking from the hotel to the harbour took around 30 minutes. Perfect for a nice evening walk, coupled with a very picturesque sunset!

Præstø is also a great starting point for visits to the Faxe Kalkbrud limestone quarry as well as the white chalk cliffs of Stevns Klint.
THE ROOM
The room was very comfortable. There was a large bed, a sitting area with two armchairs and a table with two chairs. It was very spacious in comparison to most hotel rooms that I have stayed in, it felt almost like a small apartment.

The room also had a little terrace which was perfect with the dog. It was even possible to park right behind the terrace which was extra convenient for bringing the luggage inside. In addition, the hotel had very lovely grounds that could be used by all hotel guests. Rarely have I seen such nice common spaces.

THE SERVICE
The service was very nice at this hotel. The breakfast in particular was very cute and delicious as well.
THE VALUE
We ended up paying 295 EUR for two nights, which is not cheap, but we found Denmark to generally be more expensive than other countries we have visited. However, for such a large and comfortable room with a terrace, in a nice location and with parking just in front, I thought it was still justified.
THE BOTTOM LINE
This is a very nice place to stay with your dog in Præstø. The location and the hotel grounds are wonderful and the room is large and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Overall, a very good 4 out of 5.
