In 2022, I took a trip with my dog to Denmark. We came by ferry from Rostock in Germany to Gedser in Denmark and eventually made our way all the way up to Skagen which is the most northern town on Jutland.
From Skagen, we visited Grenen, an interesting place where two seas meet, as well migrating dune Råbjerg Mile. Both of these are nice trips to take with your dog if you are in Jutland.
During our visit, we stayed in this apartment which was a nice choice overall. For a full breakdown of my experience in Skagen, read the review below.
DOG FRIENDLINESS
My dog was very welcome here and there was no surcharge applied.
THE LOCATION
The apartment was in a quiet residential location from where it was easy to explore the town on foot. Walking from the apartment to the harbour took around 20 minutes. Perfect for a nice evening walk with the dog.

THE APARTMENT
The apartment was very comfortable overall. There was a separate bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a kitchen and even an outdoor terrace. The apartment was well equipped overall and street parking was easy just out front.

THE SERVICE
There was no service as such at the apartment. The owner lives right next door and was kind overall. The only minor point I would note is that he came over to check in on us what felt like a few too many times while I was looking more for a quiet stay.
THE VALUE
We ended up paying 188 EUR for two nights, which actually was relatively cheap compared to other places in Denmark. Since it was a whole apartment, I thought it was decent value.
THE BOTTOM LINE
On balance, this is a decent place to stay with your dog in Skagen. The location is convenient and the apartment is well equipped. Personally, I would probably stay elsewhere next time as I prefer less interaction with the host, but I think this really comes down to personal preference. Overall, it’s still a solid 4 out of 5 for me.
