Where to stay in Monthermé in the Ardennes in France with a dog

This March, I took a trip with my dog to Monthermé in the Ardennes region of France. During our trip, we stayed in this holiday home which was a very good choice.

DOG FRIENDLINESS

My dog was very welcome here. There was no surcharge applied, and the owner’s dog who lives next door was very friendly and made for a great play companion.

THE LOCATION

The holiday home is in a great location, right at the bank of the Semois river. From the terrace with a little seating area, there is a back gate that leads into another private yard area right at the river. My dog immediately had to test the waters of course! There is also a picnic table already waiting for your private use.

THE HOLIDAY HOME

This holiday home is located behind the house of the host, right near the bank of the Semois river. It features 2 bedrooms, one large living room with a kitchen area, a shower and a separate toilet.

Of course, it also comes with the beautiful terrace and access to the private yard area at the river bank that I showed you above. Overall the homes was comfortable and well equipped. Parking is possible just in front of the entrance.

THE SERVICE

There was no service as such as the holiday home is self-catered, but the host met me upon arrival and explained everything. She was very kind and she was also very responsive ahead of arrival to all of the questions that I had.

THE VALUE

We ended up paying around 80 euros for one night, which I thought was really good value given that the home has two bedrooms and is in such a beautiful location.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Overall, this was a very nice stay. Keeping in mind the excellent location and the good value and the kind reception, this holiday home stay is a 5 out of 5 for me. If I return to the area in the future, I would not hesitate to stay here again!
