Where to stay in Leucate in Occitanie with a dog

In March of 2024, I took a trip with my dog to Leucate, a sea-side town in the Aude department of Occitanie in France. During our visit, we stayed in this apartment which was a nice choice overall.

DOG FRIENDLINESS

My dog was welcome here and there was no surcharge applied.

THE LOCATION

The apartment was in a great location just a few steps away from the wide, sandy beach of Leucate. The beach was really the main reason that we visited Leucate. It is really gorgeous, long, wide, and just beautiful. My dog had such a great time running around and digging in the sand, and she even went into the sea as well.

The town is also quite cute with a little port and a small bridge leading into the sea. The one problem that we had was that virtually all of the restaurants were closed. To be fair, we visited in March, but still we were surprised that really nothing at all seemed to be open.

THE APARTMENT

The apartment was overall quite comfortable. There was a fold-down bed, a full kitchen and a separate TV area with a sofa bed. It also came with its own little terrace, which was perfect for a breakfast outside. There was a private parking spot just outside which was extra convenient.

The one complaint I had was the sofa. Unfortunately it was really quite worn and dirty and urgently needed replacement. We did flag it with the host, so hopefully they had a chance to replace it since our visit.

THE SERVICE

There was no service at the apartment and I never met anyone in person.

THE VALUE

We ended up paying around 395 EUR for five nights, which I thought was a decent price. It was the offseason, but the location was great and a parking spot was included, so overall I was quite satisfied.

THE BOTTOM LINE

This was a good place to stay with my dog in Leucate. The location of the apartment is optimal to enjoy the great beach with your dog and it was comfortable and well equipped overall. I would rate this apartment a solid 4 out of 5.
